Ally and I wanted to adventure today, so we went to the Ridgway Reservoir marina to go on a hike. At first I was surprised there wasn’t another car in the whole park, but it became pretty obvious pretty quickly. We couldn’t even get to the trailhead…the gross rain-on-show made the half-mile long paved path around the marina way too slushy to be pleasant.

Plus, there was a recently killed deer caracas and fresh coyote prints in the middle of the path about half way around. That made the rest of the walk a little unsettling.

There was a bunch of deer hair stuck to my boots when I got home.

Cindy has to apologize for Matt way too much.

Hannah is much more willing to pose for photos than Bonnie. Bonnie usually just shows up as a black blur.

Late day at work today.

Colorado is the hotness right now. It was a really beautiful drive home. I spent most of it with one arm out the window taking photos.

Also, kombucha is disgusting and is not a good way to start a road trip. I’m pretty sure it’s a diuretic.

I think the last time I parked in this garage was June 3rd, 2010. That time I was here to eat fancy Mexican food. This time I was here to buy large bore straws for my wife from the mean lady at the Asian market.

It was nice being back in Boulder, seeing my coworkers and family again. But man am I ready to be home. I came a day earlier than usual to go to Peter’s going away party / baby shower, and I’m leaving a day late because of the snow. It’s been a long one.

I came back to Boulder to work out of the office for a week. It was the compromise I made for my company to let me work remotely. One week per month, to get in some face time with my coworkers.

But I ended up in the conference room for most of the week. I worked alone and didn’t get to converse with people much. Luckily I was sitting next to the only candy source in the office, so I got to see my coworkers whenever they needed a fix. Some came and visited me pretty frequently…

Despite missing Ally and the dogs so much, it was nice to be here.
