Date night with Ally at The Adobe Inn. Then we ran to the grocery store for cold sore medicine, and the lady ringing us up had an awkward conversation with us about her daughter’s unwanted pregnancy.
No Comments »The dogs each went to the vet today, mostly as followup for their fight over the weekend. Hannah got a tooth pulled, and Bonnie got a lump removed from her gumsĀ (unrelated to the fight). Fingers crossed it’s nothing…
Dogs on anesthesia are hilarious. They sway a lot and stare off into space for hours. Poor pooches.

And then the dogs got into a fight over Cornelius Von Poppington, their favorite stuffed penguin friend. It’s times like these that living in a rural area can be a problem. We woke up the closest emergency vet when we called him, and he’s still at least 30 minutes away. We didn’t end up having to go, and everything turned out okay.
I got to sleep in the office with Hannah, though, so that was fun.

The last time I caught a fish I was about 14 years old. I think we used a barbed hook, and it was pretty brutal getting it out of the fish’s throat. The fish was small, maybe only 6-8 inches long. When we put it back into the small mountain stream, his body was taken slowly with the current.
I almost cried. I don’t know why it affected me so much. Every time I’ve fished since then I hoped I wouldn’t catch anything. So far I’ve been lucky enough not to. I haven’t touched a fish, so to speak.

Luckily my wife is awesome and makes me happy.
