It was strange watching my family leave this morning instead of following them out. We officially live here now.

I got a call this morning from Support Plaza, a scammy company that said my Windows computer is infected and needs to be fixed. I didn’t believe them from the beginning, but for some reason I still stayed on the phone with them for 28 minutes. In that amount of time they weren’t able to explain what they were selling or what the point of the call was.
Maybe talking to solicitors is what you do for entertainment when you live in the mountains?

Started off the new year with a trip back to Montrose. Apparently everything is open on New Year’s Day. I would have at least thought the people at Heidi’s Deli would have the day off, but they didn’t. My stomach was actually pretty happy about that.
We took the dogs on a few walks today. They run all day long, then crash in the evenings. We can barely wake them up to move them into the bedroom. They’re so happy here.

We watched Yentl and Elf today. Elf has better singing parts, but I probably only think so because it’s Zooey Deschanel singing and not Barbra Streisand.
Also, Ally straightened AJ’s hair, and I set up my command station in the sleep loft. I can foresee myself banging out some pretty badass code from here.

We live in Ridgway now. This is going to take a while to get used to.
A few things I learned:
- I can’t pack my life into one box. It’s more like a dozen or so.
- Ally is amazing, and is surprisingly good at rolling up a rug on her own.
- Nicole has to be honest, even when playing Bullshit.
